Just to the north, the Tegallalang rice terraces step down the valley in green layers, watered by Bali’s traditional subak irrigation system.

- Tegallalang rice terraces: walk among the paddies and enjoy the valley viewpoints; mornings bring softer light and fewer people.
- Ubud Palace (Puri Saren Agung): courtyards and carved gates of the palace, still home to Ubud’s royal family.
- Ubud Art Market, opposite the palace: textiles, baskets, carvings and souvenirs.
- Saraswati Temple (Pura Taman Saraswati): a temple to the goddess of knowledge, with its lotus pond.
- Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary: ancient temples among giant trees and hundreds of macaques.
- Drop-off at your hotel.
